As a fifth generation family-run business based in Alexandra, Hinton's is a 159ha orchard famous for growing cherries, apricots, nectarines, peaches, plums, and peacharines for consumers in New Zealand and Asia.
About the opportunity
We're looking for a Mechanic to join the team at Hinton's Orchard in Alexandra. This is a full-time, permanent position (Monday to Friday), reporting to the Orchard Manager.
You'll be responsible for repairs and maintenance of orchard and packhouse machinery, including tractors, forklifts, and hydraladas, ensuring all machinery is operating at a high standard. You'll also ensure that maintenance records are maintained, and Health & Safety practices are followed.
The role has an immediate start, and we're offering a competitive hourly rate plus company ute and onsite accommodation.

Proof of eligibility to work in New Zealand is required for all applicants and any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory drug test, driver licence check, and security check. If you hold a Class 5 licence, you will also need to complete a pre-employment medical check and driver assessment.

- Experience in a repairs and maintenance role
- Practical and hands-on with a sharp eye for detail
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Health & Safety focus
- Full clean NZ driver licence
- Class 5 truck driver licence would be an advantage but not essential
