Join us as Light Vehicle Mechanic/WOF Inspector in our Christchurch based workshop!
We are looking for an experienced and fully qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic/WOF Inspector to join the Christchurch team within our existing workshop. We have a comprehensive heavy vehicle workshop at our Hornby yard which provides mechanical services for our plant and equipment. We also have onsite WOF testing, onsite Auto electrical, and an onsite paint shop that create the “One-stop-shop” for all vehicle repairs.
In addition to the above you will:
- Service and repair vehicles and plant
- Complete WOF inspection of vehicles and trailers
- Report all failure/breakdowns/causes to necessary supervisors
- Ensure high risk situations for mechanics can be identified without error

We’re looking for someone with:
- National Certificate in Light Automotive Engineering (Level 4) or International Qualification with NZQA equivalency
- A current WOF Inspector licence
- A commitment to doing a quality job safely
- A good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Experience in repairing heavy plant and contracting equipment
- A proactive approach to plant maintenance
- The ability to work to a high standard with minimal supervision
- Appropriate licences for heavy trucks, construction equipment and forklift
- A positive attitude and friendly manner
