Occupational Therapist - Morrinsville / Paeroa

Where you’ll be working: Morrinsville / Paeroa Community The details: Permanent Part time – 40 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE)
Do you have an Occupational Therapy qualification and registration with the OT Board of New Zealand? If so we are looking for an Occupational Therapist | Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau to join our team.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This position can be based at our Morrinsville or Paeroa community base. You'll provide high quality interventions to our community predominantly in and around the Paeroa/Waihi area. You will provide quality assessment and deliver safe and effective interventions to support our clients to live as independently as possible. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will manage your own caseload and wait list.
Ideally candidates will be Enable housing and wheelchair level 1 accredited, however training will be provided for successful candidates if required.

Mōu | About you
Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
  • At least 12 months post qualification experience and ideally experience with the Ministry of Health funding process, however will consider new graduate OTs
  • Rehab experience
  • Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
  • Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Full driver’s licence

Allied Health is a department of the Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services. Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with. Allied Health staff work in partnership with individuals and their family/whanau to facilitate relationships and a smooth journey through the healthcare system.
