Come and be a part of a multidisciplinary team that is making a difference in the outcomes for women and whānau across the Mid Central District and Aōtearoa New Zealand. We are seeking both experienced Registered Midwives and New Graduates to join us in our supportive team where we stive to provide individualised, evidence based and women/whānau centered care.
If you are a new graduate, returning to practice, or an experienced midwife we provide a comprehensive onboarding and supportive orientation programme, individually tailored to your needs, led by our Clinical Coach and Midwifery Educator. You will have fantastic opportunities to work alongside and become a part of our highly skilled and professional team.
We are a secondary level facility and provide care for 2000 women/whānau across our district per year, either at Palmerston North Regional Hospital, or our two primary birthing units, Te Papaioea (Palmerston North) and Kōhungahunga (Levin).

We would love to hear from you if you are new in your midwifery care, or if you have lots of experience. This is a great opportunity to become a part of a highly skilled and professional multidisciplinary team.
  • Registered with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and hold a current APC
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to providing high quality, patient/whānau centered care
  • Ability to be adaptable, flexible and solutions focused
  • Passion for midwifery and eager to contribute to improving outcomes and experience
  • Strong commitment to the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding.
