Established in 1995, Tūwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora provides top-notch health, education, and social services to all residents within the rohe of Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau and the Eastern Bay of Plenty. They are looking for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to manage all HR matters within their growing organisation.

At Tūwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora, people are at the forefront of what they do, both within the team, and in the wider community. The Human Resources Advisor is responsible for all facets of human resources, from recruitment, training, and induction to performance management, employment relations, and health and safety.
Working collaboratively alongside the Change Manager and senior leadership team, the Human Resources Advisor is also responsible for developing and maintaining a positive and supportive team environment, from the onset when a new employee joins, to their development and growth within their organisation. This is a new role and may have direct reports.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- Recruitment, induction and retention
- Employment law compliance
- Management and guidance of HR processes, including performance management
- Complete disciplinary investigations and run disciplinary processes
- Provide HR guidance to team leads
- Training and development, progression planning
- Culture development and leadership
Nga pūkenga me whai | The successful candidate requirements:
- Experienced HR professional with five years experience in the HR arena, and a minimum of three years HR experience as an Advisor level or above
- Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources Management
- Sound understanding of legislation compliance and employment legislation knowledge
- Experience running employment investigations and HR processes
- Comfortable handling courageous conversations
- HR administration experience, including onboarding and offboarding employees
- HRNZ membership
- Possess strong and effective communication skills
- Previous experience working in a diverse organisation in a similar role
- Strong understanding of TKKH and the Eastern Bay of Plenty communities
- Proven leadership and coaching abilities
- Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills
- Experience de-escalating conflict situations
- Strong relationship and network management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Understanding of tikanga Māori
