Become a crucial part of the Brownston Accommodation Experience team and help us provide an exceptional stay for our guests this SUMMER! We're seeking an enthusiastic and versatile Hostel Assistant to contribute to our hostel's daily operations, from reception services to ensuring guest comfort and safety. This is a fixed term position, until the end of April.
Key responsibilities include:

Reception Excellence: Provide a warm and welcoming reception experience for our guests, including check-in, guest registration, check-out, and handling payments accurately.
Reservation Management: Manage online reservations, allocate rooms efficiently, and assist guests with new reservations made via phone, email, or in person.
Local Knowledge: Offer accurate information about local attractions and services, including booking Real NZ & Cardrona summer experiences, to enhance our guests' stay.
Housekeeping Support: Assist the housekeeping team with room and communal area cleaning when necessary, maintaining our high cleanliness standards.
Fire Warden Duties: As a trained fire warden, take on responsibilities related to fire safety and be available on-site 3-5 nights per week to assist with overnight fire procedures.

What we are looking for in you:

Previous experience in reception and housekeeping within a hostel or similar environment is preferred.
A proven track record of delivering outstanding customer service to both guests and colleagues.
Be receptive to feedback and actively participate in all required training and performance management programs as requested.
Hold a valid Class 1 driver's license.
Previous fire warden experience is a valuable asset.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
Exhibit a strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative.
