Mō te tūnga | About the role
Lead a team of digital analysts to extract and interpret data, providing valuable datasets and insights to key stakeholders within Defence Digital Group and across NZDF. These insights will enable stakeholders to make improvements to business performance and inform operational decisions.
You will lead the group's business planning and budgeting process, including providing input into the development of service costing models, periodical financial reporting and forecasting process, and other performance metrics. This analysis will be used by Business Owners and other stakeholders to prioritize and optimize resources within their respective fiscal envelope.
The role will also contribute to the development of frameworks and policies that provide good analysis on the use of technology resources.

To be considered for this role, the following skills and experiences are necessary:
A minimum of 10 years' experience delivering business analysis and insights, with at least 3 years leading business analysis and insights teams.
Extensive experience in business analysis and insights, statistics, including the ability to present analysed data in a clear and concise manner that can be easily understood by stakeholders.
A broad knowledge of modern analytical and costing tools, and proficiency in their set-up and stakeholder use.
A strong understanding of ICT products and services, particularly in a cloud-based environment.
Experience leading teams that operate in highly complex environments with poignant us of methods and workflows.
Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
Collaborative working style with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, business owners, external suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Understanding of All-of-Government requirements and experience working within the machinery of government.
This role is based in Wellington CBD. Once you have undergone training and are up to speed, there is the option of flexible working arrangements.

Higher Level Security Clearance
You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last ten (10) years.
You must have a ten (10) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
