Are you passionate about delivering unforgettable experiences and working in the performing arts and events industry? New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to join our Venues and Events team at the iconic TSB Showplace.
As an Event Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful development, coordination, and execution of a wide range of events. From performing arts to corporate functions, your focus will be on creating events that not only run smoothly but also enhance the reputation of NPDC and elevate the TSB Showplace as a premier event destination.
Tino takohanga Key responsibilities
Event Planning: to successfully deliver clients event requirements whilst providing sound direction and information to get the best possible outcome for all
Stakeholder management (Catering, Cleaning, Security etc)
Collaborate with internal team members as required to understand different venue requirements and specific challenges
Work directly with the volunteer coordinator, zero waste officer and technical specialist to ensure that all event requirements are captured and confirmed
Roster all operational staff as required (Ops, FOH / DM etc)
Create “Event Packs” to hand over to the venues Operations Officer - this includes and is not limited to detailed runsheets, event plans, quotes, staffing requirements etc.
To create and process all invoices and purchase orders as required
Any other duties as determined or required by the business
Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako Essential skills and experience
Tertiary qualification and/or experience in event coordination, event delivery, event planning
Experience in Customer service and communication skills would be an advantage
Ability to instruct a team of casual operational staff
Experience in venue operations would be an advantage
Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word
Experience in Health and Safety in venues would be an advantage
Full Drivers licence
