The Top Energy Group operates throughout the Far North delivering geothermal electricity generation and electricity network operations. Our purpose is providing affordable and sustainable energy for Far North consumers, which we are achieving by transforming the Top Energy Group into a technology-enabled energy company that generates and facilitates two-way energy flow between renewable energy generators and consumers.
Top Energy is seeking a person to provide accurate timely information and analysis, to enable the Group to maximise generation energy sales revenue, manage risk within the Group policy and to provide assurance of regulatory compliance.
Key areas of focus will be:
Data modelling and analytic support to provide insights into electricity and carbon market to assist with Trading strategies. This includes the electricity wholesale market, ASX Futures markets, forecasts of energy price paths and the carbon market
Implement sales strategies by selling electricity products through approved market channels
Assist with generation energy revenue forecasting and budgeting
Implement, maintain and develop a Trading and Settlement platform
Manage on boarding of new customers, deal capture and associated processes
End of month financial reporting including calculation of generation energy revenue, contract settlements, carbon emissions and information for management reporting
External Trading compliance requirements
Manage electricity market compliance activities for Ngawha Generation including EA Audits, prudential requirement and ongoing relationships
Assist with the Annual Submission to the EPA for Carbon Emission obligations
Regular review of Default Emissions Factor and determination of application for a Unique Emissions Factor as required
Provide analytical support to the wider commercial team within network
To succeed in this role,you will have a bachelor's degree in business studies / economics / operational research with 3 to 7 years relevant experience in an analyst role, preferably within an electricity or utility environment. It is essential that you have analytical modelling skills and proven excellent written and oral communication skills. It would be an added advantage if you have sound knowledge of relevant NZ electricity legislation and regulations.
