The Role
As the Design and Engineering Manager, you will lead the creative and technical direction of our renewable energy projects from our Whangārei office, with some travel required to project sites. You’ll oversee everything from concept through to completion, while inspiring and motivating your team to think outside the box. This includes overseeing project viability studies, procurement, construction, and handover to operations. Your leadership will ensure innovation, consistency, and excellence across every project stage. You'll also:

• Lead a talented team, encouraging creativity and pushing for unique, innovative solutions.
• Stay up to date with the latest global trends in renewable energy and apply those insights to projects.
• Oversee all aspects of project design and engineering, ensuring seamless transitions through every phase.
• Collaborate with senior managers and stakeholders to deliver world-class, sustainable energy solutions.
• Foster best practice engineering processes across projects, ensuring continual improvement and high standards.

Who we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a forward-thinking engineering leader with proven experience in managing complex projects and teams. The ideal candidate will bring:

• Expertise in electrical, civil, or mechanical industries (being an SME in at least one).
• A knack for driving innovation and keeping up with global trends in renewable energy.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team to think creatively and achieve excellence.
• Experience leading renewable energy projects, particularly in solar energy systems over 500k Wp.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics (preferred).
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
