Deputy Director of Boarding - Acland House, Permanent Full-Time
Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora is a leading state day and boarding school for Years 9-13 students, located in the heart of Christchurch City by Hagley Park.
Acland House compromises of the original historic homestead and adjoining dormitory wings with places for 125 boarders from Year 9 to 13 whose place of residence is outside Christchurch. Acland House provides a nurturing and caring home for boarders, and a strong sense of community is developed within the boarding establishment. The boarders and their families are an integral and much-valued part of the school. Acland House has a strong focus on quality boarding, that includes academic, pastoral care and wellbeing, with co-curricular and sporting experiences at the fore.
We are seeking a passionate, highly motivated and enthusiastic Deputy Director of Boarding to support the Director of Boarding and the boarding team to provide a positive, caring, respectful and safe environment. They will fosters the growth and development of our boarders to create a thriving boarding community. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, be an effective communicator, have good emotional intelligence and a sound understanding of pastoral care. As part of the leadership team they will demonstrate effective leadership, organisational and administration skills and have the ability to deputise for the Director of Boarding as required.
This is a permanent full-time position of 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. This position is required to live onsite at Acland House.
