The Opportunity We are seeking a financially astute and forward-thinking leader with strong commercial and business management experience to join our Senior Leadership Team. This role will partner with senior leadership and managers, providing expert insights, advice, support, and financial and commercial leadership. Responsible for enabling delivery and developing effective forecasting and budgeting capability, including the publication of forecasts and budgets. Support the strategic direction and objectives and advise managers on effective P&L management with a focus on financial sustainability as part of the sector reform. This portfolio oversees the functions within North Tec finance, IT, property, facilities and procurement, contract and fleet management, critical incident management and some ākonga support services and is responsible for setting directorate strategy and managing the tactical delivery for these functions. This integral role will report to the Regional Executive Director and will be responsible for developing and leading the financial and commercial strategic programme of work to ensure the successful delivery of North Tec kaupapa. About You Your hands on experience leading people through complex systems and changing environments is essential. Your ability to apply resilience and to flex with the path to navigate a fast-paced environment will be necessary. Ideally you are a member of CAANZ or equivalent professional body and have a postgraduate qualification in accounting or a related field, with demonstrable significant senior leadership experience in finance, and a strong understanding of the vocational education sector. Strategic thinking, stakeholder management and leadership skills, along with proficiency in forecasting, budgeting, reporting and commercial negotiation come naturally to you.
