The Opportunity
We are seeking a forward-thinking leader with a strong academic and educational leadership background to join our Senior Leadership Team. You will be abreast of innovative teaching and learning delivery and ensure that what we do and how we do it address the learning needs of diverse groups, are industry-relevant and that our programmes prepare ākonga for real-world settings.
This portfolio oversees the functions within North Tec Ākonga success, teaching and learning delivery, academic quality and registry, ākonga support services and our international team based in Auckland being responsible for setting directorate strategy and managing the tactical delivery for these functions.
This integral role will report to the Regional Executive Director and will be responsible for developing and leading the teaching and learning (domestic and international) and ākonga support strategic programme of work to ensure the successful delivery of North Tec kaupapa.
This unique opportunity requires a seasoned leader with proven ability to build relationships, influence at a senior level, and engage to facilitate understanding across multiple and diverse stakeholders. Confident in bringing an inclusive cultural lens across every touchpoint, the successful applicant will enjoy a dynamic and collaborative environment dedicated to vocational education in communities where ākonga are at the heart of our values and everything we do.
This position is based on campus in Whangārei, Northland.

About You
Your hands on experience leading people through complex systems and changing environments is essential.
Whilst knowledge of the tertiary education environment and a post graduate education is important, you must also have significant people and change leadership experience, along with initiative, innovation and highly developed communication skills. You can also develop and maintain strong, credible relationships with relevant industry sectors, regulatory bodies, ākonga, kaimahi and the community.
Your ability to apply resilience and to flex with the path to navigate a fast-paced environment will be necessary.
