As our Corporate Policy Team Leader:
You'll draw on your diverse skills and experience. You'll:

lead and manage a small team of policy and planning professionals
drive the strategic direction of Council through our corporate planning processes (including our long-term and annual plans and performance reporting)
provide expert guidance on policy development and bylaws
have a secret or not-so-secret love of interpreting legislation
showcase collaborative work practices to achieve the best possible outcomes across the Council
have regular engagement with our elected members and communities
deliver day-to-day management of the team, fostering growth, balancing a diverse workload and maintaining performance.

What We're Looking For:
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for their next challenge.
We need someone who is skilled at balancing the bigger picture with detailed technical work. You will have a track record of successfully leading and managing teams and experience with similar mahi in local government. You will be confident working with stakeholders at all levels. To excel in this role, you'll need to showcase your deep understanding of the legislative framework that governs local government, supported by a relevant tertiary qualification.
With a proven track record in project planning, collaboration and delivery, you'll be well-prepared to tackle the challenges ahead.
