At Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The Government Services group is made up of four teams: Ministerial Correspondence, OIA Services, Parliamentary Advice and Coordination and Official Information Advisory. We support organisational excellence by providing timely, high-quality advice, communications, and governance support to the Executive Governance Team, and services to support ministers.
We manage processes, training and other work related to parliamentary questions, select committees, Ministerial and Director-General correspondence, Official Information Act and Privacy Act replies to Ombudsman complaints and the proactive release of ministerial decision-making documents.

Ko ake mahi - What you'll do

On any day you may:
  • Upload papers, log, track, transfer and report on policy briefings, parliamentary questions, Ministerial correspondence, Official Information Act requests, Ombudsman cases, proactive releases and other key documents
  • Complete general administrative tasks as required (for example triaging incoming post, filing documents in Share Point and the bespoke workflow system)
  • Support the management of workflows, allocate and/or respond to correspondence and to requests for briefing reference numbers in our workflow system
  • Ensure data, systems and processes are accurate and updated in real time to support performance reporting
  • Proof or prepare reports, responses and presentations.
  • Reconcile and maintain a register of IT software licences
Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring

  • Previous coordination or administration experience and excellent people skills
  • Exposure to the Official Information Act 1982 and parliamentary processes
  • Advanced skills in the MS Office Suite, including Share Point
  • Experience using communication and collaboration tools (such as MS Teams, Zoom) to assist the group with scheduling requirements and managing calendar invites
  • Experience with basic technical troubleshooting to resolve common issues with software, hardware, and networks relevant to workstreams
  • Demonstrated competency in time and task management, anticipating and managing issues before they arise, where possible
