Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Waitematā Specialist Mental Health and Addiction Service is the largest provider of Mental Health and Addiction Services in New Zealand and comprises an integrated range of Adult Community and Inpatient Services, a comprehensive Infant Child Adolescent Youth and Family Mental Health Community Service, dedicated Maori (Whitiki Maurea) and Pacific Island (Takanga A Fohe) Community Mental Health Services and a range of specialist services such as Early Psychosis Intervention, Consultation Liaison/ED and Maternal Mental Health. Waitematā is also responsible for the Regional Forensic Psychiatry Services and the Regional Community Alcohol and Drugs Service (CADS).

About the roles
  • Forensic Psychiatry - Reference Number: WDHB17824
  • Permanent Part-time, 0.6 FTE (48 hours per fortnight)
  • You will provide a range of psychological assessments and interventions for people with offence histories, as well as provide consultation, supervision and training to other Mason Clinic staff and may be involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of group based treatment programmes.   • Waiatarau Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit - Reference Number: WDHB15243A
  • Permanent Full-time, 1 FTE (80 hours per fortnight)
  • The role involves providing assessments and brief interventions for service users and psychological consultancy to the team and whole-service delivery. The role offers the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team, peer support, consumer and cultural advisors, and to work alongside service users and their family/whanau as they navigate a time of mental health crisis, to help them make sense of their experiences in the context of their lives, and to move towards resolution of that crisis and recovery.   • Permanent Part-time, 0.7 FTE (56 hours per fortnight)
  • You will be providing essential and highly valued specialist psychological services and consultation to the team. The role is based in Red Beach, however this is a regional role and as such may be required to work from our other regional offices from time to time to assist with Caseloads and provide some flexibility in your role.   • Providing broad-based assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services, you will deliver clinical and risk assessment and treatment to a Pacific community based clients. You will also work as part of a multi-skilled multi-disciplinary team providing holistic treatment and recovery based care. About you
As a Psychologist for the Mental Health Services you will be supported by a broader team of other psychologists responsible for psychological assessment, individual and group mode treatments, and consultation.
You will provide a range of psychological assessments and interventions for people with offence histories, as well as provide consultation, supervision and training to other Mason Clinic staff and may be involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of group based treatment programmes.
Essential
  • A post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (or recognised equivalent).
  • Registration with the NZ Psychology Board as a Registered Psychologist with a Clinical Scope of Practice.
  • Current Practising Certificate.
