He angitūtanga | About the role
As our Business Support Officer based in the Whanganui office, you will provide day-to-day support while working autonomously and maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can quickly adapt to different workflows, and prioritise multiple tasks, while also collaborating online with the Business Support Manager and other BSOs located in different offices.
The position will be focussed on:
Administration support duties for the Whanganui Office
Coordination of maintenance and repairs for commercial and residential property
Fleet coordination and support
Payroll and finance action
Processing travel and accommodation requests
Involvement in some office management tasks and health and safety work
Managing staff training documentation
Excellent customer service and communication skills to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

We are seeking a confident and organised individual with a sense of initiative to anticipate and resolve arising issues.
If you have some of following, we are keen to hear from you:
You will be an organised and motivated individual, with a range of experience in Administration
Experience in supporting planning and logistical coordination
Be able to support a team remotely
Experience in procurement systems
Able to learn processes and implement systems
Fantastic relationship building skills
Tech savvy skills, ability to learn new systems and use your initiative and build capability across the team
You'll have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and have a passion for conservation outcomes.
Communication is key! You'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, organisational skills
Great work ethic with a positive attitude and professional approach.
An ability to multi-task and deal with competing demands while maintaining attention to detail.
A full clean New Zealand Driver's Licence.
Desirable:
An understanding of the work of the Department and passion for conservation
Previous experience leading an office is desirable
A qualification in business/office administration would be beneficial
