We are looking for an experienced External Auditor to join our Assurance team in Hamilton at Senior Associate level. There’s plenty happening in the Waikato! If you're looking for a lifestyle change or an opportunity to lay the foundations in a fast-growing region of New Zealand, this could be the role for you! As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for working on various external audits with our clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the 'audit in charge' on client engagements across a variety of industries including infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, telecommunications, manufacturing, forestry, and much more.
  
• Supervising staff and helping to develop our junior staff and graduates.
  
• Becoming an integral part of building the public's trust and confidence in our clients by delivering high quality audits of financial statements.
  
• Working directly with clients and teams, understanding our clients' needs, checking compliance with policies and procedures, testing internal controls and substantiating financial information.
  
• Using cutting-edge technology to deliver exceptional external audit work.
  
• Adhering to Pw C audit methodology and required auditing standards.
  

Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your existing external audit experience, which will ideally come from a globally known professional services firm. We are looking for an experienced external auditor who can bring the following competencies and experience to the role:

• At least 3 years of work experience as an external auditor for a professional services firm.
  
• A relevant Bachelor's or Master's qualification in accounting or a closely-related subject, as well as holding or working towards a Chartered Accountancy qualification.
  
• Previous experience supervising junior staff members on external audit engagements.
  
• Experience working with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on audit engagements.
  
• Experience in producing high quality reports.
  
• The ability to critically analyse and explain complex information with clients and colleagues in a way which is easy to understand.
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
