INTERN - CHEF (BACK OF THE HOUSE)

JOB DESCRIPTION.
We are looking for a passionate and eager Intern Chef to join our kitchen team. As an Intern Chef, you will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional kitchen while working under the mentorship of experienced chefs. This internship will allow you to learn culinary techniques, kitchen operations, food preparation, and the importance of teamwork in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with food preparation: Prepare and cook food as directed by the chefs, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Support kitchen operations: Help with mise en place (ingredient preparation), cleaning, and maintaining kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Follow recipes and procedures: Assist in the preparation of menu items following standard recipes and safety protocols.
  • Inventory and stock management: Help monitor inventory levels, assist in receiving deliveries, and organize kitchen storage areas.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness: Ensure a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Learn cooking techniques: Gain exposure to a variety of culinary techniques, cooking methods, and plating presentations.
  • Teamwork and communication: Work closely with the rest of the kitchen team to support smooth service operations.
  • Participate in training sessions: Attend workshops or learning sessions to enhance culinary skills.
Qualifications:
  • Culinary Education: Current student or recent graduate from a culinary school, or someone with a strong interest in pursuing a career in the culinary arts.
  • Passion for food: A genuine interest in cooking, food quality, and the culinary industry.
  • Work ethic: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and maintain focus under stress.
  • Attention to detail: Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail.
  • Team player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative kitchen environment.
  • Flexible schedule: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pay: RM800.00 per month
