Our Recycling Business Unit currently has a need for an Operations and Efficiency Analyst on a 1-year Fixed term basis. The role will be based from Bord na Mona Recycling Portlaoise and will report to the Operations Efficiency Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible assisting with the provision of clear data and reports analysing the efficiency of various aspects of the Bord na Mona Recycling operations.

The Role: The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
To include but not limited to clear and actionable data regarding the number of domestic and commercial customers per route (distance / traffic / time / bin weights / etc.), as well as highlighting what routes have spare capacity, and working with sales to fill. Also includes analysing additional geographic areas within economical range of Bord na Mona Recycling depots that the business should be targeting.
Assist with monitoring that depot checks are being completed and providing clear and actionable data re same. Including but not limited to RCVs not weighing (ensuring depots performing daily checks), chips not reading, collection of blacklisted bins or additional collections to the route sheet (ensuring debrief procedure is being implemented at each depot).
Assist with providing clear and actionable data regarding the performance of the Bord na Mona skip collection business across all depots. Including but not limited to skip jobs completed per truck (distance / time / exchanges / etc.), skip turnaround times (incl. cleansing of data ref returns and exchanges, and procedure to stop errors recurring), skip weights not matching waste descriptions (including recoding, and application of additional charges where required), heavy skips entering sites where pricing structure not aligned to skip weight.
Assist with the collection of data and information requested by the NWPCO, WERLAs, EPA, local authorities, or other statutory bodies as required. Provide data for and attend audits by the Local Authorities and/or EPA as required.
Assist with the review and testing of standard operating procedures as required.
Assist with undertaking root cause analysis in the event of customer onboarding failures, and provide clear data identifying the root cause and work with your Line Manager and other relevant operations personnel to implement appropriate remedial actions.
Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives.

The Person: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes.
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
Strong organisational and analytical skills required
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Strong Written and Verbal communication skills required
Must be flexible to work across different areas of the business.
Proficiency in the English language is a requirement alongside eligibility to work in Ireland.
Experience in the waste industry a distinct advantage
