HGV Mechanic
Permanent/Full time

Some weekend work may be required
€20 p/hr - €26 p/hr
Vickerstock are assisting one of Ireland’s bets known food brands to assist them with the recruitment of a HGV mechanic for their site in Longford.
You will be able to work on your own initiative in all aspects of servicing and general repairs of HGV equipment, to maintenance to repair or gearboxes, engines, suspension and diagnostics.
Your responsibilities as a HGV Mechanic;

• Responsible for routine mechanical and preventive maintenance duties in the inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles and tail lifts.
• Set up and maintain a schedule of preventative maintenance check on all assets.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workshop and workspace
• Engage proactively with site H&S and compliance guidelines
• Ability to learn the specific processes and equipment items used and the skill of identifying issues which could potentially lead to a breakdown in the future.
• All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises
• Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's, objectives.

As a HGV Mechanic, ideally you will have;

• Fully Qualified Mechanic
• 3-5 years experience working on HGV vehicles.
