We are a family-run bakery located in the heart of Mayo, committed to traditional craftsmanship and high-quality ingredients. Our bakery is well-known for our breads and cakes, including our signature sourdough, which has become a local favourite. We pride ourselves on maintaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere for staff, and we are now looking to expand our team with a passionate and skilled Sourdough Baker.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, bake, and produce sourdough bread and other artisanal baked goods according to our established recipes and techniques.
Ensure the quality, consistency, and freshness of all baked products.
Monitor and maintain sourdough starter cultures, ensuring they are kept healthy and active.
Measure ingredients, mix dough, and monitor fermentation times to ensure optimal bread quality.
Bake products at the correct temperatures and ensure they meet our high standards before they reach the customer.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
Assist with inventory management, including ordering ingredients and ensuring the availability of baking materials.
Work as part of a small, close-knit team, supporting colleagues where necessary and contributing to a positive workplace atmosphere.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a baker, with a focus on sourdough bread making.
Strong knowledge of sourdough fermentation, dough handling, and baking techniques.
Passion for baking with a commitment to producing high-quality artisanal products.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work early morning shifts.
Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
