Job Summary:
As a Trailer Tracker in the logistics industry, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing the location, status, and condition of trailers and cargo throughout the transportation process. Your role is crucial in ensuring timely and accurate delivery while optimizing the use of resources and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Trailer Monitoring: Track and manage the real-time location of trailers using GPS and tracking systems. Ensure accurate and up-to-date information on trailer movements.
Data Management: Maintain detailed records of trailer locations, statuses, and cargo conditions. Input and update information in tracking systems and databases.
Coordination: Collaborate with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel to coordinate trailer movements, resolve issues, and ensure timely deliveries.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues related to trailer location, delays, or cargo discrepancies. Escalate significant problems to the appropriate departments.
Reporting: Generate and analyze reports on trailer utilization, movement patterns, and operational performance. Provide insights and recommendations for improving efficiency.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards related to trailer tracking and transportation.
Customer Service: Provide accurate and timely updates to clients and stakeholders regarding trailer and cargo status. Handle inquiries and concerns professionally.
System Maintenance: Monitor and maintain tracking systems, ensuring they are functioning correctly and addressing any technical issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or a similar role involving trailer tracking is highly desirable.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with tracking software, GPS systems, and MS Office Suite.
Tools: More preference will be given to the person who knows how to work with Skybitz software.
Knowledge: Understanding of logistics operations, trailer tracking technologies, and industry regulations.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
