SECURITY JOB DESCRIPTION

A security officer's job description can vary by employer, but some common responsibilities includeProtecting property:- Security officers are responsible for keeping the property, staff, and environment safe. They may patrol the property on foot, secure buildings, and ensure gates and fences are secure.
Monitoring surveillance:- Security officers may monitor closed-circuit TV cameras and alarms. They may also perform building and equipment inspections.
Controlling access:- Security officers may control who can enter and exit the building, and may direct heavy traffic during peak times. They may also perform security checks for specific areas.
Responding to emergencies:- Security officers may respond to emergencies, such as accidents, incidents, or safety issues. They may also detain violators.
Communicating:- Security officers may communicate with management about any irregularities or incidents. They may also communicate with local enforcement about incidents.
Maintaining records:- Security officers may complete daily reports that include relevant information, observations, and surveillance footage.
Educating:- Security officers may educate staff on proper security procedures and requirements.
Performing other tasks:- Security officers may perform first aid or CPR when needed. They may also test security systems and operate metal detectors or X-ray machines.
