Quantity surveyors are responsible for managing all aspects of the financial and contractual side of construction projects. Their job involves estimating and controlling costs, preparing tender documents, assessing financial risks, negotiating contracts, and managing procurement and payment processes. Job Description:
Review architectural plans and prepare quantity needs.
Estimate the quantity and costs of materials, labor, and construction equipment.
Prepare contract documents, including bills of quantities and other relevant details.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with contractors and suppliers.
Track changes to designs and adjust budget projections accordingly.
Monitor and keep track of progress and contract compliance.
Conduct site visits to ensure construction complies with the initial specifications and industry standards.
Manage and process payments and invoices.
Assess potential risks and work on mitigating them.
Report on financial status and make forecasts for project completion.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field preffered.
Experience 8-12 Years
Proven working experience in Quantity Surveying.
Strong understanding of construction, material, and contract law is essential.
Skills in project management and budgeting are immensely beneficial.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder engagements.
Detail-oriented and deeply organized.
Adept in MS Office and Quantity Surveying software.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
