About Alder Foods:
Alder Foods specializes in artisanal bread and exotic baked goods. We cater to premium cafes, restaurants, and businesses. As part of our expansion, we are looking for a skilled Continental Chef to manage all aspects of cooking in our kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation and cooking of all Continental dishes, ensuring high standards of flavor, presentation, and quality.
Create and execute menu items from scratch, including sauces, stocks, and baked goods.
Manage the kitchen staff and ensure smooth daily operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
Collaborate with the head chef and management team to develop new recipes and seasonal menus.
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times.
Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed to maintain stock levels.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and maintain consistent standards.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Continental Chef or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Continental cuisine and cooking techniques.
Ability to prepare dishes from scratch, including stocks, sauces, and other key elements.
Ability to manage all aspects of kitchen operations efficiently.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
A passion for food and creativity in menu development.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Culinary degree or relevant certification.
Prior experience working in a high-end restaurant or hotel kitchen.
