Position Summary: The Block Coordinator for Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) will be responsible for leading and coordinating MHM initiatives within the designated block. This role involves working closely with community members, health professionals, and local organizations to promote awareness, education, and access to menstrual hygiene products and services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about women's health and empowerment, with a strong commitment to improving menstrual health and hygiene among adolescents and women in the community. Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation: Lead the planning and execution of menstrual hygiene management programs at the block level, ensuring adherence to project goals and timelines.
Community Engagement: Foster relationships with community members, schools, and local organizations to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene and facilitate program participation.
Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions for community health workers, teachers, and peer educators on providing information and support related to menstrual hygiene.
Awareness Campaigns: Design and implement awareness campaigns to educate the community on menstrual health issues and the importance of hygiene.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Track and report on program progress, collecting data to assess the impact of MHM initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
Resource Management: Oversee the distribution of menstrual hygiene products and educational materials within the community.
Advocacy: Act as a representative for menstrual hygiene issues at local meetings, advocating for improved policies and resources for women’s health.
Collaboration: Coordinate with health officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders to align activities and maximize program impact.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Gender Studies, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in community health, women’s health programs, or related areas; experience in menstrual hygiene management is a plus.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage and motivate diverse community groups.
Proficiency in data collection and reporting.
Knowledge of local health systems and resources.
Personal Qualities: Empathetic, proactive, and a strong advocate for women's and girls' rights.
Additional Information:
This position requires travel within the designated block.
