Advertisement for the post of JRF
Applications are invited by postage/ email for One post of JRF under the sanctioned ANRF-SERB project
(CRG/2023/003532) entitled "Mode of action and Structure elucidation studies of roseocin to develop its
improved variant(s)" sanctioned for 3 years (7'h September, 2024-6h September, 2027) to Prof. Dipti Sareen
(Department of Biochemistry, PU, Chd) and Dr. Ravi Pratap Barnwal (Department of Biophysics, PU, Chd).
Post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - One
Duration:The post is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project. The appointment will be made as
per SERB or Panjab University guidelines. The appointment will be for 1 year and is extendable til the tenure of
the project, subject to availability of funds or extendable if the project is extended. The selected candidate will
have to join immediately.
Qualifications: M.Sc. in Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology or allied sciences with at least 60% marks
for GN/OBC (55% for SC/ST/PH) from UGC recognized University/ Institute. The applicant should have
cleared National Eligibility Test qualification such as CSIR-UGC NET including LS (Assistant Professorship) and
GATE or any National level examination conducted by Central Government departments and their agencies.
Desirable :P rior lab experience in microbiological techniques, molecular biology and analytical techniques.
Emoluments : Rs.37,000+ 16% HRA per month for 1* &2 nd year and Rs. 42,000 pm + 16% HRA per month for
the 3d year.
Job Requirement :T o do the experimental work related to the project, compile all results, maintain the
Laboratory notebook and all the scientific records pertaining to the project. The incumbent is expected to work
on Saturdays/Sundays and maybe on holidays also for anyp roject exigency.
Age Limit: 28 years as on the date of the interview (age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and women candidates as
per Govt. of India/ DST guidelines).
The selection committee reserves the right to downgrade the post to Project Associate-I (M.Sc. without
National Eligibility Test qualification) as per SERB guidelines, in case No candidate with UGC-CSIR-NET or any
National level examination is found eligible.
