An accounts executive, also known as an account officer or accounting executive, is a vital role within the finance department of a company or organization. The primary responsibility of an accounts executive is to manage and maintain financial records, perform various accounting tasks, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices. Key Responsibilities: Financial Record Keeping: The accounts executive is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. This includes recording daily transactions, such as sales, purchases, expenses, and payments, into the accounting system. Accounts Receivable and Payable: Managing accounts receivable involves tracking customer payments and ensuring timely collections, while handling accounts payable entails processing vendor invoices and arranging payments within the agreed terms. Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconciling bank statements with the company's accounting records to identify any discrepancies or errors and ensuring the accuracy of cash balances. General Ledger Management: Maintaining and updating the general ledger, which includes recording transactions under appropriate accounts and preparing journal entries. Financial Reporting: Preparing financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis or as required by management or external stakeholders. Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial data and providing insights to management regarding the company's financial performance, trends, and areas for improvement. Compliance and Regulations: Staying updated with accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's financial practices are in line with industry norms and legal requirements. Software and Systems: Utilizing accounting software and relevant financial tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Proven 3+ experience in accounting or finance-related roles .
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
