The Department of Medicine, Institute of Virology, research group Herker, is currently accepting applications for a position as a
Postdoctoral fellow
The position is offered within a third-party funded project for a period of 4 years and starting as soon as possible. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 100 %).
The third-party funded project is part of the DFG Research Group FOR 5815 "Structural and functional lipid droplet heterogeneity" and focuses on the purification and detailed analysis of lipid droplet subtypes from various cell types (50 %) and the scientific management of the research group (50 %).
Tasks:
- scientific services in research in close cooperation with other groups of the research group
- purification and detailed analysis of lipid droplet subtypes
- confocal and live-cell microscopy
- management (scientific coordination of FOR5815, development and maintenance of a database, public relations, organization of FOR5815 events)
This is a project position that is not limited according to § 2, 1 Wiss Zeit VG.
Profile:
- MSc-degree or equivalent in Virology/Biochemistry/Cell Biology/Human Biology and a Ph D or proof of an advanced Ph D process
- experience with molecular biology and biochemical methods, particularly subcellular fractionation
- experience with microscopic methods (confocal and live-cell)
- experience with click chemistry
- very good English skills
