Ph D Candidate (m/f/d) in Climate Change & Biogeosciences
(part time; 28,875 hrs./week; limited for 3 years)
Your responsibilities:

Working on funded projects emphasizing one or more of the following topics: Enhanced Rock
Weathering (ERW), design, developing methods for modelling ERW and gaining a better understanding of its potential in climate mitigation efforts
- Hands-on experimental work on lysimeters in a greenhouse to verify model predictions regarding carbon sequestration
- Assess/evaluate/quantify/model CO2/N20 soil fluxes in the context of ERW
- Acquire field-based lysimeter data to evaluate/model/verify carbon sequestration predictions
- Develop climate solutions based on EW together with other team member

Report findings and methods in conference and journal papers, participate/support related
Summer Schools
- Working in an interdisciplinary team, possibly with an external company
Your qualifications:
- Masters, Diploma or equivalent degree in geosciences/biogeosciences/soil sciences/ geodata sciences/geophysics/data sciences/ climate or environmental sciences or of relevant scientific field
- Strong numerate and digital skills, climate and data sciences and working knowledge of environmental sensors
- Good presentation and writing skills, Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Proactive, enthusiast, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
- Experience in the design and evaluation of field-based environmental sensor data
- Analysis and modelling of CO2 / N20 fluxes (Eddy Covariance)
- Publications at conferences or journals is a plus
