Purpose of the position
Maximizing Mac Gregor’s net income by actively managing our tax position and corporate structure, optimizing Group’s effective tax rate (ETR ) and cash tax cost, managing tax risks and being in compliance with applicable rules and legislations as well as providing relevant tax advisory, services and infrastructure to the business divisions.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Lead and develop Mac Gregor’s tax activities so that effective tax rates and tax risks are managed
- Secure compliance and provide support to the businesses and Shared Services in regard to indirect taxes
- Responsible for all transfer pricing-related matters including transfer pricing documentation and Macgregor Group’s transfer pricing model.
- Lead, evaluate and develop Mac Gregor’s tax team to ensure that activities are conducted accurately, ethically, consistently and according to relevant regulations, laws and standards and that they support business needs and objectives.
- Manage Mac Gregor's relationship with external advisors and tax authorities.
- Develop and implement an optimized group structure that reduces compliance cost and enables effective profit and cash distribution within the group.
- Advise business divisions, the Board of Directors and senior management on tax matters, on the tax position and risks of the business as well as on the potential impact of current and future laws and regulations on operations.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of corporate tax policy, guidelines, and procedures in achieving strategic business objectives and initiate development actions when appropriate.
What you’ll need to succeed
Education
- Master’s level degree in finance/legal/tax
Experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience in stock listed or privately owned groups
- We consider experience from tax consulting and advisory services as a valuable merit
Competencies
- Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations.
- Fluent English (company language)
- Expertise in defining function specific strategy and transforming strategy into concrete actions
- Excellent leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with different stakeholders
- Capability of working well under pressure and independently
Ability to make decisions and to find compromise solutions without jeopardizing critical tax objectives
