To assist in the growth of Arabic news coverage of the Zawya Arabic editorial department by covering regional business and financial news including but not limited to MENA capital markets.
Your duty will entail writing and collating news on a day-to-day basis and expand the Zawya Arabic news offering helping expand the Zawya news feed.
Being part of a dynamic and active team, you will be required to be able to respond to the business needs in an active and timely manner. You will need to plan and work in a structured and organized way, to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
What you'll be doing:

Gather information to break news, write or package stories.

Put an increasing emphasis on exclusives and beats.

Build and maintains a set of contacts to break news or to present news in the appropriate form for clients.

Build expertise and knowledge to broaden and deepen coverage.

Become an authority on a subject area.

Ensure all home pages and agenda-setting sections are regularly updated.

Ensure quality, quantity, relevance, edginess of news and PRs posted and deployed.

Create new sections and special-focus segments in a timely and relevant manner.
What do you need to bring?

A very strong news sense with experience working for a dynamic newsroom with excellent knowledge of MENA financial and capital markets.

Proven track record of writing for respected publications on topics that set the economic agenda.

Editorial management experience.

English-language writing skills would be a bonus.

Self-starter with the ability to see and forecast economic and Financial trends.
Teamwork - Ability to work effectively within a group of people and connect with others to complete a set task.
Attention to detail - A high level of accuracy and attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work within agreed timescales.
Education
At least a BA in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Political Science, Economics or Business Administration.
Language
Native proficiency in Arabic and Good working knowledge English.
