The USAID/Egypt Mission has contracted The QED Group, LLC to implement the Learning Activity. This is a five-year activity that will provide monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) support services and build the capacity of USAID/Egypt and implementing partner staff. Specifically, the purpose of the Learning Activity is to provide performance management, monitoring, evaluation, assessments and research and learning support services and build capacity of USAID/Egypt to implement USAID’s Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) methodology to strengthen the implementation of USAID/Egypt’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS) and enhance USAID’s organizational effectiveness. Responsibilities: The knowledge Management and Research Specialist responsibilities:
Participate in research tasks and prepare or co-prepare the respective reports and other outputs.
Work closely with the Learning Activity technical team and lead or participate in analysis of secondary or primary qualitative and quantitative data, as assigned.
Support Learning events and organizational development activities, including facilitation, note taking, and reporting as assigned.
Provide technical support for research activities and planning, including but not limited to contributing to, the desk/literature review, data coding and analysis, site visits, etc.
Provide technical support for designing, organizing and managing knowledge-sharing events (face-to face and virtual) including but not limited to, drafting facilitation plan, co-facilitating, creating, managing and following up on the invite list, managing the events’ set-up, troubleshooting technical challenges during events, capturing notes/discussion content, managing different online platforms, e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, creating and managing breakout rooms, sharing screens, streaming online videos, etc.
Provide technical support for documenting and sharing learning products, including but not limited to, coordinating the on-line periodical e-newsletter, searching for sources and materials, helping with the design, outreaching, following-up with the audiences, etc.
Provide technical support for graphic design, including but not limited to, ensuring that all the LA’s publications are in full alignment with the USAID and Q2 Impact quality standards, etc.
Perform other related duties as assigned by senior technical team members or Chief of Party.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as applied social sciences, development economics, or monitoring and evaluation;
A minimum of Five years of relevant experience. Experience in a USAID-funded program preferred;
Relevant technical background in MEL and research.
Strong interpersonal skills for productively interacting and coordinating activities with a wide range of organizations (government agencies, universities, NGOs, and research institutions) within the Egyptian context;
Strong computer literacy, including MS Office, with ability to analyze and interpret data using Excel, online reporting tools. Familiarity with layout software (canva, infograpia, mural or similar)
Proven experience in summarizing and analyzing research findings.
Excellent English verbal, writing, and editing skills; strong Arabic written and spoken language skills required;
