Project/ Role Context
We seek Java Script engineers to join us in building the HTML5-based UI for our global, market-leading trading platform. You will be skilled in Angular, Type Script, Rx.js, and Java Script, all of which we use to build a unified UI in a company-wide UI monorepo. The monorepo contains both application and library code, and quality is essential. We want to keep the monorepo as the best place to build, test, and collaborate on Java Script code, and make constant improvements that can be applied across the whole platform. As a self-starter, you will be able to take a complex problem, use your engineering and debugging skills to dissect and analyze it, and distill a clear solution. You will be able to proactively identify problems faced by our customers, and figure out creative technological solutions to these. The UI's performance is critical because traders rely on our platform to trade and simultaneously consume real-time data about hundreds of financial products. Therefore, interest and experience in Java Script and HTML5 application performance and optimization are important. Ideally, you will be keenly in touch with the Java Script community and keep an eye on the latest developments in ECMAScript, JS engines like V8, web browsers, and Type Script. Experience in applying automated testing, e.g., unit testing, its benefits, and associated practices like TDD, on large-scale codebases is essential as it is key to our quality-first approach and culture of the team. We are also doing some work with Node.js microservices—using Nest.js, Mongo, Redis, Docker, and supporting technologies—and tightly integrating them with our UI. Though most of the client’s server-side development is currently in C++, our goal is consistent practices and tooling across both the UI and server side.
