The Opportunity
The Pricing Analyst plays a key role in Quark’s Commercial Team, providing crucial insights and analysis that directly impact the company's pricing strategy and profitability. Reporting to the Director of Revenue Management, this role is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing pricing strategies to ensure the company meets its net revenue goals for the fiscal year, supporting broader EBITDA targets.
What You Will Be Doing:
Develop data intelligence tools (reports / dashboards) that help assess daily commercial booking yield performance and flag revenue leakage (discount exceptions) to management in an easy-to-read format with corrective actions.
Support senior management on tactical in-market promotional execution by maintaining pricing and promotion documents/grids, conducting quality assurance, and coordinating with other functions like marketing, sales, and technology to identify and flag roadblocks.
Product launch and planning commercial pricing support - responsible for providing pricing lists, deployment, or redeployment/re-categorization information to facilitate data information loading into the centralized reservation system.
Perform recurring data analysis on topics such as assessing commercial risk, price ladder variance, cabin fill rates, and promotional effectiveness to maximize revenue generation.
Assist senior management to develop a center of excellence (quantitative & qualitative) around competitive price positioning and market dynamics by developing and maintaining tools/dashboards that help monitor and analyze competitor price adjustments/tactics.
Collaborate closely with the Sales team to gather and consolidate requirements on promotional incentives needed for special trade events/shows, contests, alternate sales channels, net rate partners etc.
Assess and analyze commercial requests for incremental discounts, and provide data-driven recommendations to senior management for faster decision-making.
Provide analytical support on requests received for reduced revenue berths from different functions like sales, marketing/media, operations, employees etc. and consolidate all requests into a central repository to enable better forecast tracking and productivity measurement.
Ad hoc commercial team tasks as required, including KPI production.
What We Are Looking For:
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Network Planning, Strategic Planning, Operational Research, Mathematics, or Engineering is strictly required.
2–3 years of professional work experience in business analysis, financial or revenue management, program analysis, or related fields.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Previous work experience within the travel, hospitality, or cruise industry is a proven asset.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a consistent track record in developing dashboards on data visualization tools like Power BI.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a consistent track record of meeting deadlines, and maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, work across multiple teams, and effectively balance multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working conditions:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
Working hours are typically 7 am - 4 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. However, flexibility is needed to accommodate meetings with team members in different time zones.
Our work environment is a hybrid model, with a minimum of two days per week in the office in Escazu.
