How you’ll make an Impact:
Manage subordinate team members and over the work for assigned general accounting team within own function; coordinate training of new staff and identifies training needs for current team; manage daily accounting responsibilities for assigned entities.
Lead financial monthly close activities
Plan and direct general accounting project activities with accountability for successful completion of all project deliverables to the business within established schedule, scope, and quality objectives; identify risk, develop mitigation strategies, alternative solutions, critical path, resolve issues, action item follow up, etc. in collaboration with project manager, business partners, etc.
Lead/ subject matter expert for providing US GAAP and Statutory accounting guidance and JDE support to business unit and regional finance team on appropriate accounting areas in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policy
Identify opportunities and lead the implementation of changes to drive improvements
Take a lead role in the maintenance of Sarbanes Oxley cycle narratives within area of responsibility and accurately present key controls within each narrative and ensure all SOX key controls are appropriately completed within area of responsibility.
Serve as an escalation point and provide technical expertise and resolutions to global finance partner and subordinate team members; interface with external auditors and vendors to respond to questions.
What you'll need (Required):
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, with 8 years of previous work related finance experience and leading teams Required

Experience working in a large manufacturing company Preferred
Ability to communicate in Portuguese, English and Spanish languages Preferred
Proven successful project management expertise
Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, database tools (e.g., Qlik View), financial systems, and ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP)
Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
Extensive understanding of financial procedures while defining team operating standards and ensuring essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own discipline
Extensive understanding of related aspects of financial processes and/or systems
Demonstrated ability to manage assigned team and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of finance to the business
Strict attention to detail
Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
Ability to primarily interact with internal subordinates and other supervisors
Ability to typically interact with external suppliers, vendors and/or customers
Ability to share information and provides basic problem solving solutions; gains cooperation of others, conducts presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules
Ability to strongly commit to quality client service and pro-active and responsive to client needs
Ability to develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness
