Coordinate all customs related activities ensuring swift release of packages and boxes being held or cleared by regulatory agencies and acting as liaison between company, customers, and regulatory agencies
Contact and communicate international documentation requirements to customers whose shipments are in Fed Ex system and whose documentation is incomplete, incorrect, or otherwise deficient. Coordinates with internal Fed Ex departments concerning shipments held because of incomplete/incorrect duties, taxes, or general information because completion or correction of said documentation expedites shipments. Ensures Fed Ex full compliance with local export/import laws and corporate policies, norms, procedures, and rules while maintaining updated documentation. Audits and tracks regulatory agency procedures in conjunction with broker invoices for reimbursable services/expenses to ensure payments are kept current and avoid delinquency fees, penalties, and/or refusal of such agencies to work with Fed Ex. Coordinates with International desk and Fed Ex contract broker concerning shipments held by other U.S. and local agencies to obtain release of shipments to destination. Acts as liaison between station personnel and Fed Ex broker in processing export/import shipments. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with customers, brokers, and government agencies.
Knowledge of local import/export laws and regulations. Excellent analytical, human relations and communication skills. Computer literate. Fluent in English. Language: Proficiency in English. Associate Degree/equivalent. Four years professional experience in international shipping/documentation requirements
