System Administrator

About Your Business Area/Department:
Amadeus Hospitality’s Technology Operations organization provides infrastructure and engineering support for the hosting and development of proprietary software used by the global hospitality industry.
Summary of the role:
This Systems Administrator will work with our Systems Engineering team in the, deployment, and ongoing management of server, network and storage services in virtualized high-availability Public and Private data center environments.
In this role you’ll:
- Be responsible for RHEL/Windows system administration. Including implementing, troubleshooting, and monitoring systems created with. Leverage orchestration and management tools to maintain system health and performance.
- Be responsible for server virtualization and related technology engineering with a focus on high availability, performance, and scalability of architectures. Make use of shell/bash scripting for consistent, efficient, and secure delivery of virtualized resources.
- Deploy, secure, and maintain containerized Private & Public Cloud Kubernetes platforms. Enforce network policies and RBAC restrictions assuming best practices of least privilege.
- Provide occasional after-hour and weekend maintenance/support as required. Participates in scheduled on-call rotation/weekend work for internal and customer escalations. Create/maintain documentation related to infrastructure in current environments and new.
About the ideal candidate:
Required Skills and Knowledge administering, patching, and troubleshooting:
LINUX
- Detailed understanding of Linux Operating System hosted on Virtual and Physical Platform.
- Awareness of Storage related commands/protocols applicable in Linux (NFS, and CIFS).
- Proficient knowledge and experience in OS Scripting.
KUBERNETES
- Operational experience with container orchestration
- Able to use tools that are available to create, manage, and configure Kubernetes clusters. (kubectl)
- Familiar with how to Cordon and drain a node for up
VMWARE
- Familiar in managing VMware Infrastructure (v Center) as a whole.
- Awareness on Datacenter, Clusters, Hosts, Networks and Datastore.
- Mandatory understanding on VM deployment (Basic or Tool Based).
- Basic knowledge for implementing VM based configuration changes.
GENERAL
- Have worked in Data Center Environment.
- Have worked on Ticketing tool, Familiar with Change Control and can handle Emergency Deployments.
Following skills are a plus:
WINDOWS
- Detailed understanding of Windows Operating System hosted on Virtual and Physical Platform.
- Good knowledge on Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
- Awareness on management of External DNS.
STORAGE
- Conceptual knowledge on storage and terminologies (Preferably Pure, Net App C Mode).
- Familiar allocating LUN to Server infrastructure.
- Familiar with Storage Addition/Reclaim requirements.
Others:
- Ceative thinking skills, can solve complex problems, have peripheral vision to recognize collateral impact.
- Strong troubleshooting, research, and communications skills are a must.
- Ethical conduct is required as this position is privy to sensitive and confidential data.
- Must be able to work within the confines of an ITIL style change management system.
