Utility Worker
Competition #: NLH-RE-24-130
Status: Temporary (Part Time - Call-in basis)
Location: Grand Falls - Windsor
You will perform a range of semi-skilled and labour type tasks on buildings, roads, grounds, and structures. You will assist the trade workers as needed. You will perform cleaning, snow removal, garbage removal, landscaping, loading and off-loading, general planting, sandblasting, painting, rigging, and scaffold erection as required. You will carry out minor repairs to the corporation's facilities. You will operate, service and make minor adjustments to equipment, i.e. jackhammers, compressors, chainsaws, brushcutters, lawn mowers and cement mixers. You may be required to take water readings and work at heights up to 130m and in confined spaces. You are responsible for all other duties related to or associated with this classification.
You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program. You are responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school education supplemented by training in the building trades. Have a working knowledge of and be able to perform semi-skilled and labour type tasks demonstrated through one year experience in the building trades. Shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules. Must possess an appropriate valid driver's license.
