Manager, Energy Trading

Energy Marketing is currently seeking a Manager, Energy Trading responsible for the successful marketing of the corporation’s electric power, transmission, risk management, storage assets, and associated products. Demonstrating a high degree of initiative and independence, this role will oversee marketing and trading operations and lead a team consisting of Trading and Portfolio Specialists, Real Time Energy Marketers, and Energy Marketing Systems.
Responsibilities:
Administering the corporation’s agreements for energy marketing services, transmission rights, power purchase and sale, and renewable energy credits.
Credit monitoring and negotiation of enabling agreements with industry counterparts.
Design and oversight of IT applications for trading, scheduling, external and internal market and system monitoring, energy accounting, and trade record control.
Design and oversight of trading, scheduling, and trade record control processes and procedures.
Developing and executing trading strategies to provide maximum value for the corporation.
Actively participating in the growth of the corporation’s energy portfolio.
Job Requirements:
A recognized university degree is required in business, economics, engineering, or comparable.
A minimum of 8 years progressively responsible experience in an electric utility, trading, or energy marketing environment.
Advanced skills in the areas of finance, econometrics, and probability.
The highest integrity and be able to work under very tight timeliness in a high stress and moderate supervision environment.
Proficiency in economic and financial analysis.
A strong business and legal acumen.
Ability to communicate at all levels in the corporation.
