REGIONAL DIET OFFICE TECHNICIAN

Position Summary

In accordance with established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate. The Regional Diet Office Technician is responsible for maintaining the operation of the NH Regional Diet Office which serves the needs of patients, residents, and staff in various food operations in Northern Health. The Regional Diet Office Technician is responsible for contributing to the maintenance of the CBORD system, which includes accurately updating patient diets and food preferences. Supports and collaborates with Food Service staff in decision making at all NH sites and assisting in the planning, testing and execution of the emergency back up plans. The position also assists in the development and delivery of training programs for end users.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Tuesday – Saturday, Days, 10:30 to 18:30

Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized two-year program in Food Service Supervision, plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
