Job Description We are seeking a motivated individual to manage the Northern Canada region, based out of Whitehorse or Yellowknife, the successful candidate will be responsible for Dawson City, Inuvik, Whitehorse, Yellowknife, Hay River and High Level. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills, with a focus on Directing and coordinating activities of the region to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities and personnel. Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure all terminals run in a profitable and efficient manner - includes monitoring freight levels, reviewing terminal financials, review daily revenues and costs, etc.
Confer and cooperate with other management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures and implement and enforce them
Work with terminal managers to ensure service standards are met, review exceptions and resolve issues.
Dealing with human resource issues i.e. discipline, grievances, layoffs, etc.
Support, counsel, train and develop staff
Dealing with customer service issues - investigating service failures, claims, etc. and develop and implement procedures to reduce problems and improve efficiency
Work with sales personnel to ensure service standards are maintained, customer needs are recognized and maintained, and develop new business
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of each terminal
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Long hours and travel are expected.
Other duties may be assigned.
