The Opportunity: Records Analyst/ Corporate Assistance
Permanent, Full-Time position, based out of Whitehorse, Yukon.
Who we are: Yukon Energy is the main generator and transmitter of electrical energy in the territory. Our plant facilities are on the Traditional Territory of Yukon First Nations. There are 14 First Nations in the territory, and we are proud to work within these Traditional Territories in all our business operations.
What will you do:
This role supports the corporate records program and the Corporate Secretary, with a split of approximately 60% on records management and 40% on corporate assistance. The balance of duties may change over time.
Responsibilities:
Records Analyst: Maintain, safeguard, and manage the lifecycle of official records. Ensure records are kept and disposed of according to retention schedules and regulatory requirements.
Corporate Assistant: Provide general administrative support to the Corporate Secretary and other departments as needed.
What you need to succeed:
- Post-secondary courses or programs in Records and Information Management (RIM) or Library studies or equivalent, or a combination of experience and education.
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in the Records Management field with demonstrated knowledge of electronic records and information management processes.
- Training and/or thorough familiarity and proficiency with computerized systems including Microsoft Office programs and database systems with an aptitude for learning new software and systems.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all departments.
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality of matters.
- Thorough understanding of records management practices and principles including classification and retention scheduling.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and coordinate with others in departmental and organizational records management projects, with minimal supervision.
- Detail oriented and ability to maintain a high degree of visual attention and mental concentration.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to communicate with various departments on established records management procedures and to develop, prepare and deliver training and user material.
- Solid client service orientation and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to the work such as bending, lifting and moving boxes and the ability to lift storage boxes weighing up to 16 kg.
