Who We Are
Simon Fraser University is a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future. Our purpose – the essence of SFU – is to create and connect knowledge, learning and community for deeper understanding and meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering excellence, innovation, belonging and community in all that we do.
The Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) acts as a liaison between students and faculty in the implementation of disability-related accommodations and services. CAL is responsible for upholding SFU's General Policy 26 ("Accessibility for students with Disabilities") and also advocates on issues related to diversity, educational equity and academic achievement.
About the Role
The full-time Program Administrator in CAL, plays a critical front-facing role in a busy office environment, often being the first point of contact for students, faculty, and other SFU community members seeking support and information on accessibility. In addition to creating a respectful, safe and inclusive space for diverse clients, this role is an important team member, ensuring back-end and administrative processes are running effectively.
The ideal candidate for this position takes a people-centred approach to service, has demonstrated excellence in communicating effectively and respectfully with diverse populations, including neurodiverse individuals, and has demonstrated experience balancing multiple tasks with outstanding attention to detail. We operate as a close team, and we look forward to welcoming a strong team player who builds effective relationships with colleagues, initiates improvements to processes, and enjoys our fun, face-paced, and supportive culture.
