Production Manager

About Us
Manmade is a Montreal-based online retailer of premium quality essentials, known particularly so far for our men’s boxer briefs. We have been rapidly growing since launching in 2021, and the brand is truly at a turning point to becoming a household name in Canada, and already growing in parallel in the US market.
Who are we looking for?
As the Production Manager, you’ll ensure every step of production runs like clockwork, from dynamic production scheduling to overseeing supply chain logistics. You’ll build and maintain vital relationships with suppliers and factories, playing a pivotal role in meeting deadlines and quality expectations. You will also be responsible for bringing product enhancements and new innovations to market and ensuring target lead times are met based on the internal forecast.
Is this for you?
We are growing so rapidly, so things are changing quickly, and an in-house presence is required. At this time, we can’t accommodate any “remote” or “hybrid” type of work arrangements. The role requires regular travel to suppliers and factories, both domestically and internationally.
What else are we offering?
We offer extended health and dental benefits, 100% fully paid by the employer. We offer catered lunches every day and all the snacks, drinks, coffee, and fruit you could want.
Even though we’re a fast-growing company, your work-life balance will not be compromised as long as you can meet expectations within your work hours.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, factories, and stakeholders across the supply chain.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve cost-effective raw material purchases, leveraging economies of scale and scope.

  • Collaborate with factory management to ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining quality control.
  • Work with design to implement new product ideas and improvements to ensure physical bulk is aligned with initial design.
  • Partner with sourcing to introduce new manufacturing partners into production workflows.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) to develop and implement best practices, QA/QC programs, and corrective actions for quality improvements.
  • Engage with the marketing team to establish promotional strategies that align with production capabilities and timelines.
  • Develop and execute production plans to meet company milestones and targets, adjusting strategies as needed to maintain timelines.
  • Lead production team by setting performance goals, providing training, and motivating staff to achieve optimal performance.
  • Implement lean manufacturing techniques to minimize waste, improve productivity, and streamline operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant import standards, including Canadian and U.S. regulations.
  • Evaluate and appraise vendor performance regularly, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Lead the implementation of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, ensuring seamless integration with existing business operations.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in textile and garment production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in implementing a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
