Production Labourer

Downie Timber Ltd, located in Revelstoke BC has immediate fulltime openings, approximately 40 hours a week, for Production Labourers to join our team. We are a forest harvesting and lumber manufacturing company located in Revelstoke and are a proud component of the Gorman Group of companies. Downie Timber produces multi species wood products.
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the successful candidate will be required to work with a team of employees, who are responsible for the cleanup of mill debris (saw dust, shavings, cants, chips and wood) and performs all other duties required. The entry level role is responsible for any production task assigned by the supervisor. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an industrial process environment.
KEY ROLES of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Work shift work, available for all shifts on short notice
  • Ability to meet physical demands including walking, shoveling, climbing stairs, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Working in a industrial process environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks is required
  • A strong commitment to safety
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • SIN/Work Permit/Visa Required
  • Physical ability to perform labour intensive occupations
  • High School Diploma or equivalency is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in forestry or industrial process environments is considered an advantage
