Production Foreman
Building Products of Canada in Edmonton, Alberta is looking for a Paper Mill Foreman. Reporting to the Paper Mill Supervsior, this is your opportunity to join a company with a rich manufacturing history that values the training and development of its employees. This role is a shift based position that will see you work two (2) day shifts followed by two (2) night shifts and then four days off on rotation.
Responsibilities:
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: From $72,500.00 per year

Responsibilities:
- Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who operate the various machines on the production line and all associated duties
- Ensure that systems and equipment are operating efficiently and that proper maintenance and repairs are performed
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
- Requisition materials and supplies
- Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
- Recommend personnel actions such as job movement per the collective agreement
- Prepare production and other reports
- Monitor safety conditions
- May set up machines and equipment
- Relevant experience in a supervisory role, 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical Aptitude essential
- Proven ability to use Microsoft office and ERP
- Inventory management experience
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with various nationalities and cultures
- Must have proven communication skills and excellent English language skills (Written and Oral)
- Strong sense of urgency and priority
- Must be creative, independent , resourceful and positive
- Commitment to enforcing the highest safety standard
