Job Purpose & Responsibilities:
The City of Cold Lake is seeking a qualified individual to fill the permanent, full-time position of Administrative Assistant in the Land Use, Planning, Development, and Regulatory Services department.
Reporting to the Principal Planner, the Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for:

Providing telephone and front counter reception
Processing financial transactions
Serving as a front-line contact in providing information and resolving issues from the public, Managers and other stakeholders.
Dealing with questions and the administration of processes, policies, and bylaws
Using computers to perform tasks such as creation of spreadsheets, composing correspondence, database management, creation of presentations, reports, and documents
Review memos, submissions and reports, prepare agendas and arrange meetings for committees / departments
Supporting department functions as required

Qualifications & Competencies:

Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Administration or related field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in administrative role, preferably in Municipal or Government setting.
Strong customer service skills and a keen interest in assisting others.
Strong communication, time management, computer and organization skills.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Class 5 driver’s license.

This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
The salary for this position is $29.24/hr; hours of work are 35 hours per week.
This competition will remain open until October 28, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.
