Hickman Automotive Group is looking for a permanent full-time Parts Counter Person to join our team at Hickman Truck Centre in St. John's. Pay range is based on skill level and experience.
Duties And Responsibilities

• This position contributes to managing the parts inventory, ordering parts, and works to meet customers' need.
  
• Conducting parts sales via telephone and internet.
  
• Searching and supplying parts through our electronic catalogue for a variety of customers which includes retail, wholesale, as well as our service department technicians.
  
• Ensuring all special order parts are ordered in a timely manner and notifying customers once they arrive.
  
• Invoicing and accepting payments from our retail and wholesale customers.
  
• Invoicing parts on service department repair orders.
  
• Proper care, stocking and attention to parts bins.
  
• General housekeeping duties.
  
• Assist with loading and unloading of freight.
  

Qualifications

• Previous Automotive/ Heavy Truck experience in a Parts Department would be considered an asset but not required.
  
• High School diploma or equivalent.
  
• Excellent customer service skills and a professional telephone manner.
  
• Fluency with Microsoft Office software.
  
• A positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
  
• An eagerness to learn and strong attention to detail.
  
• Understands the importance of excellent customer service.
  
• Organizational Skills.
  
• Ability to assist the Parts Manager in analyzing and resolving discrepancies between computer inventory and actual parts on hand.
  
• Ability to receive customers, establish rapport, and determine and attend to customers' needs.
  
• Ability to match customers' needs with appropriate parts or services.
  
• Knowledge of parts counter procedures, such as requiring prepayment for special orders, etc.
  
• Ability to lift some heavy parts.
  
• Ability to work as a team member.
  
• Strong sense of urgency.
  
• Proficient with basic computer skills, email, internet, and Microsoft Suite.
