Hickman Automotive Group is looking for a permanent full-time Parts Counter Person to join our team at Hickman Truck Centre in St. John's. Pay range is based on skill level and experience. Duties And Responsibilities
This position contributes to managing the parts inventory, ordering parts, and works to meet customers' need.
Conducting parts sales via telephone and internet.
Searching and supplying parts through our electronic catalogue for a variety of customers which includes retail, wholesale, as well as our service department technicians.
Ensuring all special order parts are ordered in a timely manner and notifying customers once they arrive.
Invoicing and accepting payments from our retail and wholesale customers.
Invoicing parts on service department repair orders.
Proper care, stocking and attention to parts bins.
General housekeeping duties.
Assist with loading and unloading of freight.
Qualifications
Previous Automotive/ Heavy Truck experience in a Parts Department would be considered an asset but not required.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Excellent customer service skills and a professional telephone manner.
Fluency with Microsoft Office software.
A positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
An eagerness to learn and strong attention to detail.
Understands the importance of excellent customer service.
Organizational Skills.
Ability to assist the Parts Manager in analyzing and resolving discrepancies between computer inventory and actual parts on hand.
Ability to receive customers, establish rapport, and determine and attend to customers' needs.
Ability to match customers' needs with appropriate parts or services.
Knowledge of parts counter procedures, such as requiring prepayment for special orders, etc.
Ability to lift some heavy parts.
Ability to work as a team member.
Strong sense of urgency.
Proficient with basic computer skills, email, internet, and Microsoft Suite.
